Therapeutic tape that’s applied strategically to the body to provide support, lessen pain, reduce swelling, and improve performance. An elastic tape that provides input into an area, but still allows for full range of motion mimicking the elasticity of human skin.Everyone has nerve receptors in their skin,as well as in the deep layers of the fascia, muscles and other connective tissues. When the tape is applied, it causes compression or decompression of these areas allowing it to alter pain signals to the brain. For example if someone has Plantar Fasciitis and is experiencing a lot of tightness in their calves, taping with limited tension can turn “off” the muscle so the person doesn’t receive pain signals.

Exercise must be complemented by a balanced diet. Not losing weight? So many factors play a part, from the food you are eating, to hormones, which can affect how much water your body retains. Also gaining muscle at the same time as you lose fat may keep those numbers on the scales the same. Most people I find aren’t eating enough and their body has gone into starvation mode-this is when your metabolism slows so you use less energy and burn fewer calories. You may also drop muscle mass to conserve energy, this is not a healthy way to lose weight.I can help you identify problem areas in your eating habits and plan accordingly to improve them.

Pregnancy inevitably takes its toll on both fitness and weight. I am able to help you cope with these effects both before & after giving birth. I am experienced in recovery from both natural and C-section births.

Exercise pre & post-natal has numerous health benefits which are well documented, however throughout this period extra consideration & knowledge is required to design safe and appropriate exercise programs. Past exercise history along with current health will be considered.

If you are trying to improve your fitness for a particular sport, or you have an event coming up that requires you to be in peak physical form, I can create a programme specially tailored to that goal.

A form of body conditioning or resistance training using high intensity aerobics. Targeting strength building and muscular endurance.

High intensity interval training is a cardiovascular exercisestrategythat involves alternating short periods of intenseanaerobicexercise with less intense recovery periods.

Flexibility is the range of motion in a joint or group of joints, or the ability to move joints effectively through a complete range of motion. Flexibility training includes strengthening exercises to lengthen the muscles, which can prevent injuries, back pain, and balance problems.

A fairly intense mix of aerobic, strength training and speed elements within each group session. Essentially a type of interval training; bursts of intense activity alternated with intervals of lighter activity.

Developing core strength is essential for everyday health and well-being. A strong core protects the spine, reduces back pain, and improves balance stability and posture.

Maintaining a moment by moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, we can tune into the present moment rather than focusing on the past and imagining the future. Mindfulness can relieve stress, lower blood pressure, reduce pain, improve sleep & many more benefits.

A qualified Instructor of the ancient art of Tai Chi; one of the most effective exercises for health, mind & body. Combining deep breathing and relaxation with flowing movements. Originally developed as a martial art in 13th century China Tai Chi is now practised around the world as a health promoting exercise.

Balance is the ability to stay upright or stay in control of body movement and coordination is the ability to move two or more body parts under control smoothly and efficiently. Together they are crucial for most sports but as we grow older and lose physical strength and bone density our sense of balance deteriorates and we take longer to recover from a fall. The good news is it is never too late and we can slow this process by being active.

From just tracking your intake with or without exercise, I can provide strategies to help you approach weight management with a more positive and productive mind-set.

We all have habits, things we do every day without even thinking about them but do we notice their impacts? I will help you change those habits successfully without feeling you’re depriving yourself or counting calories but feeling you’re living better every day as part of a 12 week programme.
